The news always comes from the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, historically very informed on the affairs concerning the Cupertino giant. In fact, Kuo has already talked about some of them these days problems emerged on the supply front that are complicating Apple’s life in view of the launch of the new iPhone 14scheduled for the traditional September window.

Specifically, Kuo had talked about procurement issues for displays and memories, but affecting only some of the suppliers. According to the analyst, Apple would have valid alternatives at hand, and still enough time to review their plans: for these reasons, therefore, the launch of the next iPhone should not be at risk.

FRAGILE LENSES

But that’s not all: today Kuo is in fact back on the subject, arguing that according to his own sources Cupertino had to face another unexpected event, this time concerning the camera, namely the glass cover of the sensors. Apple has indeed noted that the coating of one of the rear lenses protecting the iPhone 14 cameras suffered from quality problemsand tended to crack easily.

The analyst talks about a situation that would already belong to the past, because the company in its current state would have already solved the problem transferring the order of approximately 10 million units of lenses from Genius (aka the supplier who disappointed) to Largan, another Taiwanese company specializing in the sector.

This move would have recomposed the “crack”, ed thus avoided once more jeopardizing the timing foreseen for the launch of the new iPhones 14. Which apparently will arrive on schedule, but which seems to have had a particularly troubled gestation: at least at the beginning, however, according to Kuo iPhone 14 units available in the first few weeks may be limited.
