Flying low: F1 22 gets updated with AMD FSR 2.2 support and performance improvements

F1 2022 is one of the great titles for motorsport lovers that has already been reviewed by TechSmart and now it has just received the 1.17 update with support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.2, further increasing the performance of the title on GPUs other than NVIDIA GeForce RTX that already had access to the feature.

According to the PC Gamer portal, F1 22 can now run with 11% more performance in balanced graphics mode thanks to FSR 2.2. The difference was noticed when testing the updated game on a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor and a Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU. The results were as follows:

  • Balanced Mode: Average 110 FPS, Minimum 80 FPS
  • Performance mode: average 120 FPS, minimum 83 FPS

In addition to the performance improvements, the update brings fixes to the game such as the bug that could lead to having less than 20 pilots in a season in Career mode, Power Unit wear during Quick Practice, empty friends list in crossplay and a issue when selecting “End Season” in Real Season.

Also new is the updated color of the front wheel arches and the George Russell number.

F1 22 is available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, S and One.
