Within our Security Cameras category we have seen jewels of all kinds, but few with a price that does not reach 20 euros offering everything that this new security camera that I have been able to test these weeks offers.

It’s about the Annke Cratera camera that looks like something out of the WALL-E movie, and that it only costs 19.99 euros.

In this video I tell you the details:

Advantages of the Annke Crater

If we take into account its low price, the points in favor would be the following:

– A very good resolution1080p, Full HD.
– Vision nocturnal thanks to infrared, with a range of 8 meters.
– App very complete mobile
– Possibility of to turn the lens remotely.
– Tracing auto people.
– Detection of outline human to avoid false positives.
– Audio bidirectional, to speak into the camera and listen to what is happening.
– Storage local and/or in the cloud.
– Design Tastefully minimalist as it looks like a toy or action figure from a movie.

Installation of the Annke Crater

The Crater needs to be connected with the cable that comes in the box, charger included (of the 5V of all life). Once connected, we open the Annke Smart app, available on Android and iPhone. With the app we click on add camera, always in manual mode, since the automatic one did not work for me (being a new model, it is possible that the Bluetooth detection is not yet fine).

Once put in manual mode, we only have to scan, with the camera lens, the QR code that will appear in the app, including it in the application immediately.

It doesn’t cost much to install, but the manual that comes in the box is in English. Although the process is quite intuitive, it is important to take into account my recommendations.

By the way, plugs and screws also come in the box in case we want to put it fixed on the wall, with the corresponding support so that the process is simple. It stays very well on top of any table, so I don’t see it as necessary.

What I miss Annke Crater

It has no internal battery, so we depend on the cable. The version of 19.99 euros has a very short cable, although we can use any cable that we have at home with the same connector. Unfortunately it’s not USB-C, it’s mini-USB.

An internal battery would have made the camera quite expensive, so it makes sense not to include it in order to boast of being one of the cheapest on the market.

It’s also not waterproof as it’s an indoor camera, so try to keep it away from open windows or the bathroom.

Remember that the manual is in English (and German), so either you use the google translate camera, or follow the process that I indicate in the video.
