It’s no longer so easy to choose between Chromebook models due to the growing variety of options. To further complicate the situation, now comes AMD launching its new line of specific processors for Chromebooks.

Of course, those who opt for future models that house any of the four models of the new series will know that they will have greater performance and energy efficiency, and more so if they will also use the units they acquire to play on platforms such as Steam.

More performance, better graphics features and greater energy efficiency

These improvements are thanks to the zen 3 architecture that AMD initially brought to traditional computers in 2020, and that it has now integrated into new Ryzen 5000 C-Series processors for users to get better experiences.

According to AMD, these new processors offer up to a 67% improvement in performance and up to 85% improvement at the graphic level compared to the previous generation, although comparisons are surprising, such as the fact that their new processors are up to 94% more energy efficient than their Intel equivalentsas well as 25% multitasking and more.

In this way, Chrome OS, the operating system of Chromebooks, will perform better and obtain greater autonomy, according to the data provided in its presentation. The new line of processors consists of the following models:

  • Ryzen 3 5125C: 2 cores and 4 threads Zen 3 up to 3.0GHz / 3 Radeon Vega graphics cores at 1.2GHz
  • Ryzen 3 5425C: 4 cores and 8 Zen 3 threads up to 4.1GHz / 6 Radeon Vega graphics cores at 1.5GHz
  • Ryzen 5 5625C: 6 cores and 12 threads Zen 3 up to 4.3GHz / 7 Radeon Vega graphics cores at 1.6GHz
  • Ryzen 7 5825C: 8 cores and 16 threads Zen 3 up to 4.5GHz / 8 Radeon Vega graphics cores at 1.8GHz

Acer and HP will be some companies that have already confirmed their future models with some of these processors, such as the Acer Chromebook Spin 514, which will arrive in the third quarter with the Ryzen 5125C, and the HP Elite C645 G2 Chromebook, which we will see in early summer. , although the company has not specified the model of the series that it will use.

In any case, they will be processors that will be arriving in models of Chromebooks of higher ranges.
