We have traveled to Berlin where Panasonic has presented to us what will be his Smart TV star ranges for 2023 both for the OLED and LED categories of the market with the new MZ1500, MZ800 and the MX950, MX940, MX800 and MX710 respectively.
The brand bets this 2023 for an OLED range in which the presence of the Master OLED Pro Panel, of Japanese origin. With enhanced brightness and dynamic contrast, Panasonic promises a dramatically improved viewing experience with the addition of the HCX Pro AI processor. As its “surname” indicates, the fashion of integrating artificial intelligence algorithms that allow instant analysis of the image to refine elements such as contrast, color or clarity for greater naturalness when viewing is added.
Panasonic’s new OLEDs also offer the enhanced Filmmaker mode that ensures that content can be viewed exactly as the director of the series or film intended, and also adapt to the lighting in the room to improve viewing.
Special focus on gaming with the MZ1500
Especially the MZ1500, the most complete of the range, also has other technologies such as Auto AI, which adjusts the image settings depending on the content or, for lovers of content on Netflix and the like, Streaming 4K Remaster, which analyzes the textures by zones to offer more detailed and clean images.
Panasonic’s new television incorporates the latest technologies present in gaming systems such as compatibility with HDMI 2.1, full native 4K resolution, up to 120 Hz resolution frequency as well as ultra-low latency and input lag or VRR and AMD Freesync Premium, as well as such as compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC when connecting with equipment where an NVIDIA RTX graphics card is present and avoiding effects such as tearing or stutter, in addition to repeating the True Game Mode already typical of Panasonic televisions.
Google TV on the OLED MZ800 series and LED MX710
It is perhaps the great news since, for the first time, Panasonic launches a television with Google TV as the operating system, which means that it also has Chromecast integrated, Google Assistant functions, and the entire list of features already known from the software of the Mountain View company for televisions.
Although they are not the OLED series, it also has a good series of features to enjoy video games such as HDMI 2.1 or the full resolution 4K panel. They have new sound modes designed to enjoy the games.
Panasonic will repeat Google TV also in the LED range inside the MX710also 4K and with functions such as Filmmaker mode as well as compatibility with HDR Dolby Vision, HDR10 or HLG Photo.
Panasonic’s New Mini LEDs
Moving on to the LED range, we start with the MX950, available in 55 and 65-inch sizes, with 4K resolution and a Mini LED panel with a Quantum Dot layer. They share with the OLED elements such as the HCX Pro AI processor or the Filmmaker mode. In this same series, the 43-inch MX940 4K as the most competitive range in features and price of the brand for 2023.
First with Panasonic Fire TV: MX800
if in the range OLED the first Panasonic TVs with Google TVin the LED arrive those who will be the first to integrate Fire TV. With HDR Cinema Display and 4K resolution, this series will present the largest size to date with an 85” device, compatibility with Dolby Atmos or the presence of Game Mode Extreme with compatibility with HDMI 2.1.
Price and availability
Panasonic’s new MZ1500 OLED range will be available from August 2023, while the MZ800 and MX710 will be available from June. For its part, the LED MX950, MX940, MX800 series will be available from August 2023.
