NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 can be up to 15% faster than RTX 3090 Ti, benchmark indicates

NVIDIA has promised a big leap in performance with its new generation of graphics cards, and according to new benchmark tests leaked this Monday (07), the GeForce RTX 4080 promises to be even faster than the brand’s old flagship.

Successor to the GeForce RTX 3080, the new graphics card scheduled to hit the market later this month appeared in Geekbench 5 recording 248,932 points in CUDA Score. This suggests that the hardware will be capable of delivering 15% more performance than GeForce RTX 3090 Ticonsidered the most powerful graphics card of the previous generation.

From the OpenCL benchmark results, it can be deduced that the GeForce RTX 4080 will be about 37.5% faster than its predecessor and 9% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. Looking at its Vulkan performance, it can be seen that the graphics card still delivers 20% more performance than the GeForce RTX 3080 and 5.5% more than the RTX 3090 Ti.

The GeForce RTX 4080 will ship with the same AD103-300 GPU used in the GeForce RTX 4090, but only enabling 9,728 CUDA cores (76 stream multiprocessors). The video card will have a unique option of 16 GB of GDDR6X VRAM and should work with 64 MB of L2 cache and clock up to 2,505 MHz.

On the opposite side of the force, AMD introduced its first new generation graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture at 5 nanometers. The Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX are expected to play giant duels with the GeForce RTX 4090 and the alleged RTX 4090 Ti, respectively.
