Data from a survey carried out by the Rakuten Advertising show that in 2021 half of the purchases made by Europeians during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period were via cell phone. These results reinforce the importance of smartphones and tablets for online retail, especially in the 4th quarter of the year, which includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

According to the survey, in Europe around 60% of orders were made by laptops, while computers accounted for around 35% of total clicks last year. Specifically at the time of conversion, the preference was also for mobile devices, used in 50% of purchases completed by Europeians.

As suggested by the consumption thermometer released by Grupo Globo, in November this year Black Friday is expected to record a higher number of sales compared to recent years. As a result, both e-commerce and physical stores should have increased sales thanks to the expected growth in the number of sales.

It seems that 50% of people intend to take advantage of the special dates at the end of the year to invest in new electronic devices, especially televisions to watch the Qatar World Cup, a sporting event that will be broadcast from November 20th, ending in December 18, 2022.

56% of respondents reported that they intend to buy something because of the tournament and 72% intend to take advantage of Black Friday promotions during the FIFA competition.
