WhatsApp will have another new feature – this one aimed specifically at users in Brazil. The Celular Seguro program, launched by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) in 2023, will alert, via the messaging application, when someone has reactivated a stolen or stolen cell phone.
There is still no set date for the alerts to start running. Implementation will be coordinated by the Steering Committee, made up of members of the MJSP. This committee will meet monthly under the leadership of the National Public Security Secretariat.
