Pixel Notepad, Google goes on the brake pedal: not satisfied yet | Rumor

We will have to wait to find out how Google imagined its first leaflet. And not until the end of 2022 as the rumors had told us so far, the most credible of which bore the signature of the well-known analyst Ross Young. Pinpoint at what time in 2023 we will see Google Pixel Notepad (or Fold, it still needs to be ascertained) at the current state of the narrative it is still premature, but the chances of seeing him by the end of 2022 seem to have suddenly disappeared.

The indiscretion comes from thelec.net, which cites sources familiar with the project. The reason would be due to the fact that Pixel Notepad would still not be as complete as Google would have expected at this point, therefore no mass production starting from the third quarter of 2022 and consequently no launch by Christmas or thereabouts. Well that goes, if you want to believe the rumor coming from Korea, Google Pixel Notepad will debut in the first half of 2023.

The explanation provided by the sources of the The Elec does not tell the details of the delay, but it is not difficult to imagine what could have induced Mountain View to slow down the pace in the gestation of a complex product such as a folding smartphone, which, moreover, it sees Google at the first challenge. The strength of the hinge can cause headaches like the display, which must be flexible but at the same time able to withstand the small and large challenges it is subjected to every day for years.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 139.3 x 156.5 x 11.1 mm
7.8 inches – 2200×2480 px
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 128.1 x 158.2 x 6.4 mm
7.6 inches – 2208×1768 px

The Asian newspaper confirmed some of the features that previous rumors had already traced back to Google Pixel Notepad. The smartphone should not follow the path of Huawei Mate Xs 2 but the one traced by Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold, therefore with a external display and another, larger, internal one.

The first would be 5.78-inch, the second 7.57-inch, and both would come from the Samsung supply chain, with which Google has thickened relations for about a year, with the debut of a Wear OS made by two hands and a Google Pixel 6 (and recently also 6a) with Tensor chip entrusted to Korean foundries.
