In recent days, rumors from more or less authoritative sources about the products that Apple will launch in the last quarter of the year are intensifying. Rumors that are not focused only on the hardware characteristics but also on the expected production volumes.

In both cases, however, there are confirmations and denials as usual. With regard to products, in the last few hours, for example, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman questioned the rumors spread by 52Audio regarding the possibility that the AirPods Pro 2 have a heart rate monitor and an integrated body temperature sensor.

As for the production volumes, the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo instead he expressed doubts about a report by the Taiwanese newspaper DigiTimes according to which Apple has cut orders for iPhone 14 processors at TSMC by 10%. According to Kuo, in fact, the forecasts of shipments for components for the next generation of iPhone would remain exactly the same as reported in recent days.

Kuo said in a Twitter post that “slight adjustments” (single-digit so to speak) on shipping forecasts would be quite common, but Apple doesn’t usually change production volumes for new iPhones so dramatically before their launch and of the consequent feedback from the market.

If a supply chain problem causes a significant change in the shipping schedule of new iPhones prior to their mass production, Apple will usually postpone orders instead of cutting them.

According to Digitimes, despite the expectation of strong demand, Apple has decided to cut orders for the iPhone 14 by 10% due to the growing production difficulties by TSMC which would need to satisfy the requests of three others. large customers.
