It’s been a few months since Google announced some new features for Wear OS-based smartwatches, such as new tiles for favorite contacts, sunrise and sunset time settings, and voice command shortcuts for Adidas Running via Google Assistant.
Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series users can now ask Google Assistant via a voice command to start a run in Adidas, and it will start a run in the Adidas Running app. And then open a stopwatch, which records time, calories and heart rate.
To utilize the feature, users need to have the Adidas Running app installed on their smartwatches and an existing account signed in. This feature speeds up the start of training, since it does not require opening the application and setting the timer.
According to Google, its virtual assistant integration is easy to implement, and fitness-related apps can use APIs in Health Connect and Health services to create great workout experiences.
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic were the first smartwatches to run the enhanced Wear OS 3 operating system. Thanks to your collaboration, millions of Galaxy Watch users get a complete ecosystem of apps and services through the Play Store, while Google gets more users on its platform who were struggling previously.
