Google opened the exchange program that offers credit for the purchase of its new products launched at I/O 2023, and one of the details that caught the public’s attention is the amount that the company is paying for used Apple cell phones. The amounts offered for the purchase of a Pixel Fold can reach US $ 900 (about R $ 4,440).
Officially released for $1,799, the Pixel Fold is one of the stars of Google’s latest releases, which also include the Pixel 7a. To attract customers from other brands, the search giant is offering significant amounts of credit for users’ old cell phones when purchasing new products.
The highest amounts paid by Google — that is, assuming the used phones are in good condition — are $900 for the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Other significant amounts include the $850 credit for the iPhone 13 Pro and $800 for the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

It is worth remembering that the 128 GB iPhone 14 Pro is sold in the United States with a suggested retail price of US$ 999. The 128 GB iPhone 14 Pro Max, in turn, is sold for US$ 1,099. This pricing strategy indicates that Google is targeting Apple cell phone users, as credit is proportionately higher for newer iPhone models.
