In what now seems like a distant 2008, Dead Space has established itself as an acclaimed survival horror game that will now receive a remake that is making waves. Announced a few months ago, last Tuesday (4th) the first trailer with gameplay was released, which made a good impression on fans.

In addition to the revamped gameplay systems, the much more advanced graphics naturally draw attention, which give another ambience to the horror in which the protagonist Isaac finds himself alone in a ship adrift in space filled with deadly mutants.

It was possible to see how the EA Motive studio is striving to offer a more immersive experience taking advantage of the benefits of the last generation of consoles. Now, the youtuber ElAnalistaDeBits took the little more than two minutes of the trailer to break it down in a comparative video with the original game.

It’s possible to see a huge leap in terms of lighting and geometric complexity, particle effects and more — although it’s nothing to sneeze at what the 2008 game still offers today. Look:

Announced in July of last year, the space horror title uses the Frostbite Engine to deliver state-of-the-art visuals while maintaining the game’s original style. In the video it is possible to remember several areas of the original game and have a glimpse of how they were in the new version, with a release date scheduled for January 27, 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

“Developing this remake was a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we are true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves. It was equally exciting to see player reactions as we took them on this development journey with us,” said Phillippe Ducharme, Senior Producer on Dead Space earlier this year.
