EA Motive has confirmed that the upcoming Dead Space remake won’t have any loading screens – unless you die.

The original game was very similar to this, with the camera following Isaac Clarke almost the entire time. Despite this, control was removed between chapters because of loading screens. This won’t happen in the new version, with the camera following you around the clock.

The Dead Space remake will be similar to 2018’s God of War, where we will see the story being told in sequence in its entirety.

In a post on EA’s blog, the developers point out that this new tactic will allow free exploration of the USG Ishimura, being able to go anywhere in search of items that you have missed. “Now it’s a completely unbreakable experience,” said senior producer Philippe Ducharme.

In the same article, Durcharme talked about “honoring the legacy” of the first game by staying true to the core foundations but adding incredible improvements on top. There will be new content, but story details and graphical improvements.

The goal was to make you feel like you were experiencing Dead Space all over again for the first time, if you were already a fan of the game. But we also have the chance to give those who have never played the opportunity to have the ultimate Dead Space experience, with a game that looks and sounds like a modern game.

The Dead Space remake will be released on January 27, 2023.
