The iPhone 14 will not be delayed: Apple has done its homework, and the demand will not matter

There is not a little information that has appeared regarding possible delays in the launch of the iPhone 14. But information has been known from a highly reliable source that indicates that Apple has done its homework so that this does not happen. Therefore, as planned, this new generation of phones will be released in September.

It is true that the North American company has encountered great difficulties, like all the giants that work in the technology segment. They range from supply chain issues to the effects of COVID in China, where there are still difficulties getting work done as usual and as fast as usual.

Fortunately, the company led by Tim Cook (an expert in what has to do with supplies), they have been on the right track and in a fairly reliable way they have managed to make the doomsayers wrong -at least that is what it seems- and there will be no delay in Apple’s flagship product for the 2022: the iPhone 14. Good news if you are one of those who will change the terminal when this model is official.

What has Apple done to avoid failing with the iPhone 14

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an expert in what has to do with the Apple business, what has been achieved is diversify the production of components that will be part of the smartphone. This is something that is not very common in the company with the bitten apple, but with this it has achieved that there are no delay forecasts. And this will be so even satisfying the demand for shipments that has been established in a few 90 or 100 million units (among the four iPhone 14 models to be announced in September).

But there are some components that have given Apple a major headache. An example is the new RAM LPDDR5 which will include the Pro models of the new range of phones. It has been very difficult to stabilize it to achieve an adequate supply, but thanks to the use of additional suppliers to Samsung (such as Hynix or Micron), it seems that the bills are coming out for the firm.

(2/3)1. LPDDR5: Samsung is almost the sole supplier for 3Q22 and can meet iPhone 14 Pro production ramp-up demand. Micron & SK Hynix will likely ship in 4Q22 at the earliest because the former’s certification schedule started later, and the latter encountered quality issues.

Another of the great challenges for the new iPhone has been the new screens OLED that they will integrate LG Display has given significant problems in manufacturing, so here it has had to give a radical turn to the forecasts. Again, Samsung has been the one who has come to the rescue of the iPhone 14. To complete the needs, BOE (a Chinese manufacturer) has been used and, thus, this component will not cause problems either.

(3/3)2. Panel: Samsung and BOE can largely fill the initial supply gap caused by LG Display’s panel appearance issues (iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14, mainly the former). It’s expected that LG Display should not take much time to address the issue.

However, it is quite clear that Samsung it’s one of the big beneficiaries of Apple’s supply chain woes, and by making the vast majority of Apple’s smartphones, it’s going to make some serious money. How times change, right?

A new way of working for everyone

The pandemic and the effects derived from it, such as problems in maritime transport, have led Apple and many other companies to consider how to work to date. depend a single supplier is shown to be a complete mistake, and more if it is in a single country. Therefore, the time of diversification has arrived and an example of its benefits is that the iPhone 14 will not have any delay.
