Now that Netflix already has an extensive catalog of games for mobile devices, the idea is beginning to take shape that the company will also try to land in the segment of games transmitted from the cloud, to compete with options such as Google’s Stadia or GeForce Nvidia’s Now, among many others.
In this sense, the company has published a list of vacancies, recently discovered, to fill positions that allow the development of its new ultra-low latency game transmission system in the cloud, although these offers do not allow to perceive the timeline that Netflix may be managing for the launch of its new service, since there is no information about it.
Among the positions offered are that of security product manager, who will have to face the “challenges of games, threat vectors, infrastructure and customer requirements”, and even that of rendering engineer with the task of ” support cloud gaming service.”
The commitment to the transmission of games in the cloud
Netflix did not close the doors to the creation of its own game transmission service, although at the time it focused on the development of its game service for mobile devices, which since its launch has not stopped growing in terms of to titles, despite the fact that it has not been widely accepted.
Now this list of vacancies shows that Netflix also wants to have its own game streaming service in the cloud, which will complement the streaming of movies and series on demand, even on the television screen itself, although we do not know if will offer in the same app or through a separate app.
Logically, and as has happened with other similar platforms, Netflix will have to face a series of challenges that will come out as the service becomes available.
In this sense, we do not know if it will have to face the policies of the Apple App Store for the dissemination of games and follow the steps taken by other platforms to try to circumvent the limitations.
It will also be interesting to know what games will become available, and you can not miss the comparisons with the rest of the game streaming platforms. It is only a matter of getting to know the ins and outs of the new platform.
