One of these functions is off (power saving)which allows for greater energy savings than sleep mode by scheduling game, application, and operating system updates at specific times of the night instead of using a random time within a specific night period, seeking to bring all these processes when the energy comes mainly from renewable sources.
Users of Xbox Series X/S consoles will get this feature automatically, being able to make some changes based on their needs, while Xbox One users will have to select it manually.
In any case, remote functions are supported as long as the console is on, and according to Microsoft, this new mode reduces power usage by up to 20 times compared to sleep mode.

Another function of energy is the active hours functionin which users can select the period of hours in which the consoles should be available according to their gaming habits, and when the end time arrives, the console will turn off completely and consume only 0.5 W compared to at 10-15 W.
Users of Xbox Series X / S consoles will have automatic programming based on previous habits, while users of Xbox One consoles will have to configure them manually, which by default will always be active until they change them.
Microsoft also offers some advice to players so that they do their part to help reduce energy consumption, which will be added to other initiatives that it is carrying out with developers and organizations to reduce carbon emissions as much as possible.
