Since launching Windows 11 in October 2021, one of the main user complaints has been the amount of notifications sent in the bottom right corner. But that should change soon. Microsoft intends to reduce how often pop-up windows appear to you.

The Redmond giant has been working on a new feature called smart opt-out. It will aim to reduce unwanted alerts on the system by allowing to disable these warnings for applications that are not used much.

In other words, it will not be a tool that uses Artificial Intelligence to carry out the work, but rather an identification of the last time they interacted with a certain program, to ask the user if they want to deactivate its alerts. There will be two options: off and without change.

The new feature should not affect notifications push of frequently used applications. Furthermore, it is important to point out that Microsoft still provides the function of “emergency alerts”, to classify the high priority notices, as well as the focus assistwhich reduces distractions and helps people focus on their work.

For now, there is still no set date for the arrival of the smart opt-out to the Windows 11 operating system. However, the feature is expected to enter the production pipeline within a few months.
