Apple would come to terms with the difficulty of BOE in producing screens for iPhone respecting the prescriptions in terms of quality. This was reported by the Korean magazine The Elec. Among the partners BOE is the special observer after the difficulties suffered last year with the iPhone 14 and the clumsy attempt to hide the flaws. In Cupertino, evidently impatient, they would have decided to to entrust the orders that belonged to BOE to Samsung.
Not without difficulty because most of the panels needed for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max were in the hands of the Seoul company, which suddenly found itself with an even more important workload. Thus, reports the Korean magazine, Samsung would have decided to produce from mid-May the LTPS OLEDs for iPhone 15 and 15 Plus which were of Moe to start June with mass production of LTPO OLEDs for iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
The LTPS OLEDs for the two iPhone 15s will be very similar to the panels for the iPhone 14, but it was the only big difference expected to over-rev BOE, that is the debut of the Dynamic Island for which Apple requires specific precautions in production. The Chinese company, according to what The Elec reports, allegedly missed the delivery of the first iPhone 15 units producedof the “samples” that Apple had evidently requested to understand if BOE was able to supply panels of adequate quality.
However, the permit to start mass production has not arrived, because BOE would not have been able to “seal” the hole in Dynamic Island as Apple claims instead for reasons of visual quality and maintenance of the same over time. The sensation, colleagues report, is that BOE is seriously in danger of staying out of the iPhone 15 game and only keep the order for the fourth generation iPhone SE, which according to rumors should have the OLED panel of the iPhone 13 or 14, something that the Chinese company, after a thousand difficulties, has already shown it can do.
