Already with several rumors on the loose, new leaked documents point out some news for the iPhone 15 Pro models – Apple’s next cell phones will support Wi-Fi 6E, faster connectivity standard. The report shown by the informant @Unknownz21 for the MacRumors portal shows the antenna architecture of the devices codenamed “D8x” (the iPhone 15 Pro) and “D8y” (the standard iPhone 15), and we can see that the novelty will only be in the model more advanced. There are also changes in the position of the antenna between the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro.

Until now, Apple has offered the fastest Wi-Fi standard on the iPad Pro with M2 chip, the new Mac mini and MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and Max chips.

The benefits of switching to Wi-Fi 6E aren’t as immediate for everyone, as to take full advantage of the new standard, you must connect your device to a Wi-Fi 6E capable router. Given that the technology is new, these routers are expensive, with consumer adoption still low.

Unlike previous Wi-Fi standards, Wi-Fi 6E operates on the 6 GHz channel. This allows you to offer faster transfer speeds, higher bandwidth and lower latency.

The internal documents also confirm that the iPhone 15 Pro series will use 3nm-based A17 Bionic chips, leaving the A16 chips for the most basic models of the new lineup, as has been done in the latest versions of the iPhone.
