Moto G53 and G23 are approved by Anatel

Motorola approved the new Moto G53 and G23 at Anatel, which indicates that they may be launched in Europe soon. The preliminary sheet from the regulatory agency does not confirm the specifications of the smartphones, but we already know that the Moto G53 is sold in China with an attractive price and basic sheet.

It has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor, 50 MP camera and 5,000 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Moto G23 should be a little simpler, but it should still be sold with a 33 Watt charger in the box.

For now, Motorola remains silent about the leaks.

MIUI 14 Global should be released soon

According to information revealed this week, Xiaomi is ready to make MIUI 14 official in its global version. Rumors indicate that MIUI 14 should be launched together with the global Xiaomi 13 line, which may be presented during MWC 2023.

For those who don’t remember, the event takes place between February 27th and March 2nd in Barcelona, Spain.

Other sources even say that the Xiaomi 13S Ultra is also another surprise that Xiaomi has in store for the event, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

In any case, MIUI 14 should initially be available for the Xiaomi 12 line, some Xiaomi 11 models, more expensive devices from Redmi and POCO.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo appears in leak

The Digital Chat Station revealed that we will soon have a device known as the Redmi Note 12 Turbo on the global market.

According to the leaker, the smartphone will be announced with the future Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 processor. The display is a 6.7-inch OLED that offers FHD Plus resolution and a rate of up to 120 Hz.

The set of rear cameras will consist of a 50 MP sensor, 8 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro.

Operators must help identify those responsible for the attack in Brasilia

The perpetrators of the attacks that resulted in the invasion and destruction of part of the National Congress, the Planalto Palace and the Federal Supreme Court can be identified with the help of telecommunications operators.

In an order published last Monday, Minister Alexandre de Moraes determined that companies keep the data of people who were in the square of the three powers and at the door of the army headquarters last Sunday.

Moraes’ decision points out that the information must be retained for at least 90 days. The minister also determined that companies in the sector can use the geographic location of cell phones to calculate where people were.

The measure seeks to assist in investigations and identification of criminals responsible for acts of vandalism, since the geographic location can be linked to the user’s CPF.

Minister says eSports is entertainment

The Minister of Sports in the Lula government, Ana Moser, said in an interview with the UOL portal that the portfolio will not invest resources in eSports.

The former volleyball athlete explained that she does not consider electronic games as a sport. For her, games are actually a kind of entertainment.

That’s because they are predictable. I’m going to open quotes here for her speech: “The electronic game is not unpredictable, it is designed by a digital, cybernetic programming. It is a schedule, it is closed, different from sports” – unquote.

She also said that she fought against bills that equated video games with traditional sports.

It should be remembered that the electronic games market moved almost US$ 2.5 in Europe in 2021. In addition, the Senate has already tried to regulate the eSports market, but the project was heavily criticized by the gamer community.

iPhone 15 may have dynamic island and 48 MP camera

According to sources working in the Cupertino company’s supply chain, Tim Cook’s team is rethinking the iPhone 15 market strategy.

That’s because the weak sales performance of the iPhone 14 Plus can make the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max or Ultra models even more expensive.

With this, Apple can force consumers to be interested in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. As a consolation prize, these devices should gain a dynamic island on the display, a 48-megapixel main camera and an Apple A16 Bionic chipset.

That is, it will only be the Pro models of the iPhone 14 family with a new name, iOS 17 and some adjustments in the field of design. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models can receive the 3-nanometer A17 Bionic chip.

Finally, the source of the rumor also points out that the devices are already in the final stages of development and may go into production soon.

Samsung may cancel Galaxy S24 Plus; S23 launch confirmed

Samsung can simply cancel the launch of the Galaxy S24 Plus in 2024. According to sources, this measure is part of the downsizing that the brand will do in its catalog of flagships and intermediates.

Apparently, the idea is to sell only the standard S24 and the Ultra model. The matter became even more serious after internal codes showed that only two flagships are being developed for 2024.

Market analysts believe this strategy is also linked to a shift in the global smartphone market. They say the segment has matured and many consumers choose to buy the more affordable model or simply pay a lot more for the premium variant.

This makes “middle” cell phones end up performing below average and that’s basically what happened with the iPhone 14 Plus, for example.

Make a note in your calendar that the Galaxy S23 family will be launched on February 1st. Of course, TechSmart will cover it all and you can follow all the details with us!
