In January, GX.games – a platform where creators and developers connect with Opera GX’s 20 million-strong gaming browser community – will offer two popular indie games for free as part of ‘GX. games Monthly Drop’, an initiative launched last year.
In the past year, GX.games has distributed countless indie games to its followers. But that number will increase a lot later this year, with new claims for free games expected to enter GX.games every week from now through July.
The first game to hit the GX.games platform in January is gladium, by Eirik Wiklund – a fast-paced action combat game set in the era of Roman gladiators. Taking control of a pixel-based warrior, your objective is to navigate countless bloody encounters with enemy gladiators, each with their own mechanics and tactics, until only one remains. Fans of the Dark Souls series will immediately feel at home with Gladium’s skill-based combat mechanics and brutal boss fights, which will be available for free. from January 12th.
Next comes the charming match3 puzzle and visual novel Princess Farmerby Whitethorn Games, which will be available for download from January 19th. In the game, which received a “very positive” 94% on Steam, you control a rabbit who is also a regular farmer. That is until Mother Gaia bestows magical powers that take the rabbit’s farming and farming skills to the next level. But something mysterious is happening in the forest and it’s the gamer’s job to decipher it – learning about the world around you as you talk and build relationships with lovable characters including Mother Gaia, Garlic, Shoppe Keeper Rowan and even BunBot!
To get Gladium or Princess Farmer for free this month, all you have to do is visit GX.games, click on the game, create an account and click “claim”. Thus, you will have the game available and without an expiration date.
But if gladiators or rabbits aren’t your thing, don’t worry. There are many other high quality free indie games available to play such as Hero’s Hour, Leaf Blower Revolution, DYO and Last Horizon.
