The ChatGPT tool is a language-based chat using GPT-3 Artificial Intelligence. It is one of the most popular options of this type today, and surprisingly it has been constantly lacking in basic privacy features due to the suspicion that is appearing regarding its use. One example is recent data privacy concerns in Italy, which have put ChatGPT in the spotlight. This has led OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, DALL-E and other tools, to announce a new usage option that, among other things, allows you to disable chat history. This feature (called Incognito Mode) will keep your conversations relatively private, something that many users and entities demand as well. Changes in how ChatGPT works By default, this tool saves the activity that is generated when accessing its use (something that remains accessible in the left sidebar… unless you delete each chat individually). The new feature we’re talking about allows users to disable this feature, which will prevent conversations from being used to “train and improve” AI models and anyone from seeing what’s been done on the computer screen or of the mobile device. And this is excellent news. From OpenAI they wanted to make things very clear: “These controls, which are being implemented for all users as of today, can be found in the ChatGPT configuration and can be changed at any time. We hope this provides one more way easier to manage your data than our existing opt-out process. When chat history is turned off, we’ll retain new conversations for 30 days, reviewing them only as necessary for abuse, before permanently deleting them.” An explanation that, for some, may not be especially credible. How you can use Incognito Mode To use the new Incognito Mode that is part of ChatGPT to turn off chat history, follow these steps: Open the ChatGPT app or website and go to the settings menu. Now, search the option to turn off chat history and turn it on. Once enabled, your conversations will not be saved or used to “train and improve” AI models. Please note that your ChatGPT conversations will still be recorded, but will eventually be deleted. It is important to know that it is possible to enable or disable this option in the settings menu, giving you more control over your data. With the new Incognito Mode, ChatGPT users can now have more privacy in their conversations and manage their data with greater precision. Furthermore, by providing this privacy option, OpenAI is demonstrating its commitment to protecting users’ privacy. >
