Super Mario Bros.: The Movie premiered in theaters a few weeks ago, but it’s already shown to be an absurd success and comes to break once and for all the curse of films that adapt great video game franchises.

With the success of the film, many wonder what will be the next big franchise to be brought to the big screen. If it’s up to Activision, Crash Bandicoot may win a movie soon.

Before being bought by Activision Blizzard, Crash Bandicoot was considered the first PlayStation mascot, with its first games being produced by Naughty Dog, a studio currently known for franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us.

The genetically modified marsupial is known for its crazy and stripped-down way, yielding several successful games and enshrining many characters beloved by fans. Recently, the franchise has been revitalized through remakes of the original games, as well as a fourth unreleased game that has been extremely acclaimed by expert critics and fans alike.

One of the main responsible for revitalizing the franchise was Toys For Bob, a studio that belongs to the Activision Blizzard group. Bearing in mind that we will soon have the launch of the online game Crash Team Rumble, the studio went to its social networks to promote the title and took the opportunity to tease fans with the possibility of a film based on the franchise.

With the Plumber Boy’s incredible cinematic success, I think it’s time for a Crash theatrical release! What do you think, Sony Animation?

Interestingly, Toys For Bob has already tagged Sony Animation into the conversation, Sony’s animated film division that has released many hits, such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

For now, the studio has yet to respond to the request, which means we don’t have a confirmation just yet, but the responses to the post from fans have been overwhelmingly positive, showing that many are looking forward to it.

So, would you like a Crash movie?
