the portable console AYANEO Air Plus arrived as one of the rivals of the Steam Deck. Although unknown, the manufacturer has produced several devices in the category, such as the recently announced AYANEO 2S. Likewise, the campaign indiegogo of the console in question was also quite successful.

According to the analysis carried out by the portal Engadget, the performance pleases, but it is still not enough to deliver a console-like experience. In general, the product received praise for its performance, as it manages to run many games with a TDP of only 10W.

In more demanding games, however, it is necessary to increase the values to have a stable game with the device. In addition, the device can be equipped with USB dongles and accessories thanks to the two USB-C ports on its housing. Another component seen as a positive point was the 6-inch IPS-type screen.

Even though it’s not OLED, the panel showed good levels of brightness and contrast. Other specifications include a Ryzen 6800U chip and the device is very similar in size to the Nintendo Switch, being even smaller compared to the Big N console.

The AYANEO Air Plus runs Windows and despite this being a differential due to greater compatibility compared to the Steam Deck system, the analysis noted some problems running the games. For example, research is required to set up and play Red Dead Redemption in full screen.

Overall, the console was rated as competent and outperforming the Steam Deck. Even so, it is necessary to improve some aspects such as the price (since it is quite high) and the software experience. Finally, the battery lasts almost 1 hour and a half with more demanding games and can reach up to 2 hours of autonomy if the user makes some sacrifices.
