While working on the next generation of the Apple Watch, the Cupertino company has registered a somewhat curious new patent that shows the imagined future for the wearable.

Known as “Display Module And System Applications”, Apple’s idea foresees the use of a Flexible OLED display on the watch band itself intelligent. Thus, the panel can cover the user’s entire wrist.

This expansion of the display area opens up the possibility of multiple uses, and the watch could also display more information to the user or even allow the activation of new features.

The 28-page patent is over 10,000 words long and also provides for flexible display use in other Apple devices. In all cases, the company makes it clear that it does not own this technology, but that it intends to embed a series of circuits in the OLED panel itself.

the memory module, chipset, battery and other components may remain “stuck” in the watch case.

Even so, this expansion of the circuits for the display can leave more space for the Apple Watch to receive a larger battery, something that extends the low autonomy of the device.

However, as we are talking about a patent, we emphasize that it is necessary to be very careful and consider everything as just another rumor, since this idea can simply be abandoned by the Cupertino company.
