Apple hired Timothy Camposa former senior executive at Facebook, as division manager Information Systems and Technology: will replace current manager Mary Demby, who will retire at the end of the year, and so will her right-hand man David Smoley.

The division reports directly to Luca Maestri, CFO (Chief Financial Officer), and is defined by Apple as its “nerve center”, because it allows employees, suppliers and customers to stay connected and exchange information. For now the information is confidential: it was previewed by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. However, on his LinkedIn profile, Campos confirms that he is “preparing for something new”.

Campos held the same role at Meta from 2010 to 2016 (naturally at the time it was called Facebook Inc.); and earlier at the semiconductor company KLA Corp. More recently he had founded Woven, a calendar app for mobile devices that had achieved a good level of popularity before being acquired by Slack. To clarify further, Campos is not one of the more than 11,000 people fired yesterday by Mark Zuckerberg and associates.

Over the last period there has been one rather full-bodied series of abandonments among the most prestigious ranks of the Apple: not even a month ago, the abandonment of the heir of Jony Ive Evans Hankey was reported, and Bloomberg also reports the main head of privacy, the head of the ecommerce division and the head of procurement.
