After several months of Radeon RX 7600 GPU rumors, we finally have official confirmation of their existence from AMD. The icing on the cake, we even know when the new graphics cards should arrive.

radeon rx 7900 XTX

According to a report from our colleagues at VideoCardz, during the first quarter 2023 earnings conference call, AMD CEO and President Lisa Su claimed that the manufacturer would have soon an update to share regarding the RX 7600 and other Radeon 7000 series GPUs.

Confirming that the RX 7900 XTX GPUs saw strong sales in the first quarter, Lisa Su reportedly said the company is on track to expand its « RDNA 3 GPU portfolio with the launch of new Radeon 7000 series GPUs this quarter “. What you have to understand is that after the release of the high-end references last year, other more affordable RDNA 3 graphics cards will arrive as early as June.

What do we know about affordable RX 7000 graphics cards?

Before the release of its “affordable” graphics cards, AMD would have already released some information about them. Indeed, a download request for the ROCm software stack recently mentioned unreleased GPUs. According to the shared list, retrieved by VideoCardz, AMD would not only have the RX 7600 XT in the works, but also the 7800, 7700 and 7500 GPUs. The GFX ID code suggests that the RX 7700/7600 and 7500 are all Navi 33 based, while the RX 7800 is said to be Navi 32 based.

This news clearly confirms AMD’s intention to dominate the graphics card market by offering a wide range of options. If the information disclosed is true, it means thatAMD plans to target not only the mid-range market, but also the low-end market, which has long been neglected by Nvidia.

We’re only starting to see mid-range options, thanks to Nvidia’s recently launched GeForce RTX 4070, and we’re still eagerly awaiting the release of the already widely rumored RTX 4060 Ti and 4060.

The supposed launch date for the new graphics cards would be May 25, a few days before the Computex show, and these would then be released on the market the following month.
