A Canadian company called Formify want to use 3D printing to develop the ideal mouse for your hands. In this sense, the company located in the city of Toronto launched a Kickstarter campaign with the proposal that aims to build the ideal peripheral for anyone’s hands.
Currently, there are numerous options on the market with the aim of delivering the best ergonomics for all types of users. However, this company intends to develop the model in a personalized way, using people’s own hands as a reference so that it has the ideal dimensions and comfort conditions.
The way it works is based on sending a photo of the palm of the hand that the user uses the mouse with all fingers extended. According to the company itself, several algorithms will work on this record to analyze the image and obtain all the necessary information.
With this, machine learning will be able to learn all the necessary details, taking into account finger length, hand width and size. Finally, the resources promise to bring the ideal mouse design in a completely personalized way for a value that is between $140 (BRL 692) and $179 (BRL 885).
Regarding the mouse specifications, the company uses Kailh GM 8.0 microswitches, in addition to the 26,000 DPI optical sensor. Likewise, there’s a battery capable of handling two weeks of use, a weight of 55g and a tracking speed of 650 inches per second.
The campaign for this different proposal is now live and raised just over US$8,600, with a target of US$29,935 and a deadline of 32 days to be finalized.
