The University of Malawi Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) , in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) , announces the opening of applications for the 2026 DAAD-MUBAS Scholarship for the Master of Science in Environmental Health program . The Faculty of Science and Technology at MUBAS invites applicants from within and outside Malawi to apply for the Master of Science in Environmental Health program , which will commence in September 2026. The program offers a limited number of fully funded scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the In-Country/In-Region Scholarship Scheme , funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Program Goal

The program primarily targets university faculty members, while not neglecting the need for academically qualified personnel in the public sector.

The program is divided into two parts:

  1. The coursework includes ten core units:
  • Epidemiology and Biostatistics
  • Combating environmental pollution
  • Food safety and hygiene
  • Healthy communication and behavior change
  • World Health Organization
  • Occupational Safety and Health
  • Health Project Management
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene

2. The research thesis (Dissertation): Students must carry out a research project that culminates in the preparation of a scientific thesis for graduation.
