Instagram ensures that it is not preventing users from exporting videos to other platforms
During the week, many users encountered an issue when trying to download their Reels from the editor to upload them to other platforms.
Although the download was successful, they were surprised to find that the videos had no sound. This seemed to be an indication of a new measure by Instagram to stop downloading Reels for sharing on other social networks.
Instagram promises to fix the Reels download problem
Most users recycle the content they create for social media, taking it from one platform to another. For example, they find it easier to download the video they have created on TikTok and recycle it to share as Reels on Instagram.
However, Reels have multiple editing features that most social networks don’t have in their editors. So users take advantage of Reels filters, effects and editing options to create content for other platforms.
A dynamic that has gone unnoticed until this week, since the trick stopped working. When users downloaded the Reels that had not yet been published, the video was downloaded without audio, so they had to be published to have the full content.
This opened the doors to speculate if Instagram was putting limits on this practice of creators, beyond the complaints about the download error. And the Instagram team has responded to these claims.
It has made it clear that it is not a question of any type of limitation or impediment, but that it is due to some failure in the download function of the Reels. They have confirmed that they are working on fixing this problem as soon as possible.
So far, the error that leaves downloaded Reels without sound is still in force, so we will have to wait for Instagram to definitively solve this problem.
