Google Calendar makes it simpler to share important information with other users

Google Calendar adds a new update that will make it easier for users to add important information to their calendars.

Instead of having to deal with configuration options, you will be able to add data about your work routine in a simple way.

Google Calendar makes it easy to add work information

One of the updates that Google Calendar implemented in 2021 allows users to add their work location directly to the calendar.

That is, users can not only share business hours on their calendar so that their contacts can see it when inviting them to an event, but they can also let others know where they are working.

In this way, a weekly schedule can be created by specifying our work hours and location… home, office, a custom location, etc. This will make it easier for other users to coordinate collaborative work, plan a visit or an event near our location. Options that could be enabled from the Google Calendar settings, as they were not set by default.

And now, leveraging that dynamic, Google Calendar is updated so users can set their work location on their calendars without going through setup. That is, it is now enabled by default for all Workspace users.

So users will be able to set their work routines (times, days and location) in the calendar without having to mess with the configuration options. And of course, this information will only be visible to users if we have previously given that permission.

For example, if we have specified that other users can see our availability in the calendar (free/busy), then they will also be able to see this additional information about our work routine.

As the Google team mentions, this Calendar update will be rolled out gradually over the next 15 days. One detail to keep in mind is that it will not be available to users with personal Google accounts.
