Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung announces the Pokémon Edition: here’s how it will be

Tell the truth: looking at the Galaxy Z Flip 3 at least once you have thought of Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance SP, with which it shares the square and clamshell design. This ideal connection becomes even stronger now that Samsung has unveiled the Pokémon Edition of Galaxy Z Flip 3: a surprise announcement, given that the small foldable launched last August should be replaced by its successor in a few months.

If you already have your mouth watering, however, calm down: let’s take our tooth out immediately, and we specify that although the launch of this special Pokémon-themed edition is close, being set for April 24, the sale of the product will not only be in limited quantities, but above all it will pass exclusively for the Samsung Korea online store. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was particularly appreciated at home, and in the course of 2021 it established itself as the best-selling smartphone ever, even surpassing the flagships of the Galaxy S21 series. At the moment, however, there are also no indications on the price.

For now, the Korean giant has spread one image of the product: fortunately, however, it is a “panoramic” shot, which, although not going into detail, manages to summarize all the contents of this Pokémon Edition, which Samsung defines as “lto greatest collaboration ever“, and to which he seems to have paid particular attention.

As for the smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Pokémon Edition seems to show up with a two-tone yellow and black shell and two images of Pikachu decorating the upper and lower halves respectively.

But actually, on closer inspection, the phone looks all black (just pay attention to the outline of the flash): it is then up to the user to choose which customization to apply below the transparent cover with ring between the two-piece one dedicated to Pikachu and the other six composed of a single piece (which covers the lower half of the device) always dedicated to the electric mouse or to Bulbasaur, Charmender, Squirtle, Snorlax and Mew. As for the body, it would have been nice to see an interpretation of the Poké Ball theme, which also characterizes the box, with a more minimal approach that played on white, black and red – but it’s all about tastes.

The Galaxy Z Flip Pokémon Edition packaging, however, is particularly rich and also contains another transparent cover with a ring decorated with a multitude of Pikachu, a keychain which incorporates the characteristic shape of the tail of the electric mouse and finally one pop socket to facilitate the grip on the phone in the shape of a Poké Ball.
