Inflation and faltering supply chains lead to high prices. In order to get a better overview of our own expenses, we looked at five household budget apps.
Prices have been rising dramatically for months, inflation is over seven percent, and less is left at the end of the month. In order to get a reliable overview of your own expenses, you should record all income and expenses – the more detailed, the better. Household cash register apps promise to organize all bills quickly and easily and to help identify unnecessary expenses.
We tested the five apps epap, Monefy, Money Manager, OnePeek and Wallet for Android and iOS. All apps are free in the basic version. The minimalist OnePeek only offsets income and expenses. Wallet can be connected to the bank account and can thus automatically create entries. With epap you can get a digital receipt at some supermarket checkouts.
Ultimately, all apps should help you to get a better overview of your own financial situation and thus identify unnecessary expenses. In the basic version, none of the apps support joint accounting and cost sharing. Apps for flat share finances or the joint holiday fund, which we have already tested, are suitable for this.
