Animatronics have fascinated me since I was a child. I have often resolved to implement such a project myself. But on the other hand, there was always a suitable excuse. As soon as I’m at Make, my editor-in-chief shoves me in at the deep end and says: “Good idea, do it! You have eight weeks.”
To manage a first project of this kind under difficult conditions did not deter me. I was confident that my product design studies and ten years of CAD and 3D printing experience would help me to overcome the hurdles to come.
The only thing I wasn’t sure about was the electronics, but I was optimistic enough to get started. So I ordered the required components and started programming.
