Ollie is originally from Poland and the inner city community have launched a fundraiser to help the family repatriate his body back to Poland.

Christine Tobin is a member of the school’s parents’ association and is one of the organisers of the fundraiser.

She told Dublin Live that Ollie “always has wanted people to be happy” and said he was “always generous and kind to his friends”.

“Myself and a local shop keeper Darryl O’Callaghan wanted to get involved in helping the family bring Ollie back to Poland,” she said.

“A loss of a child suddenly should not bring extra stress of any financial bearings as it would have on Ollie’s parents .

“The community is a pillar of strength and good will and has been donating to Ollie’s fundraiser . Not only the community but people from all over country such as Donegal, Wexford, you name it have been donating.”

Christine said businesses have been very generous to the fundraiser, which has raised over €8,000 in under two days.

She said: “The Balgriffin Inn donated €500 by Revolut. Saint Mochtas senior football team and manger have donated €500 and the team has been donating on the page.

“Airforce H&V Ltd Brian McCarthy have also donated €500.”
