A little over three months have passed since Activision Blizzard unveiled future plans for World of Warcraft in mid-April. An event in which, of course, the leading role fell mainly on World of Warcraft: Dragonflightwhich could be the most ambitious expansion published so far in the entire history of one of the most massive and traditional online games on the market, and which still does not show any exhaustion.
Now, that the main protagonist was World of Warcraft: Dragonflight does not mean that there were no other important announcements. Quite the contrary, the entire Warcraft ecosystem received interesting news in those days, and probably the second most important announcement was the jump from the servers of the World of Warcraft Classic branch, which is currently based on the Burning Crusade expansion, to Wrath of the Lich Kingone of the most and best remembered expansions by many of the most veteran users of World of Wacraft.
Both announcements, however, were made without a date., so players from both branches have been waiting for news about it ever since. Those waiting for Dragonflight will still have to wait for information about it, although it is expected to arrive later in the year. However, those who have been waiting for the jump from the classic branch to World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic have good news, and that is that we finally know when the change will take place.
As we can read in Venture Beat, Activision Blizzard has confirmed that the classic branch will jump into World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic on September 26in two months, confirming what we already predicted when both announcements took place, that the classic branch jump would arrive before the update.
Wrath of the Lich King is, as I mentioned before, one of the expansions that left World of Warcraft players with the best taste in the mouth. Published almost 14 years ago, in November 2008, after its announcement in August 2007, it sold nearly three million copies in just 24 hours from its release (despite being censored in China), establishing a record that is still remembered. From his hand came the Northrend continent and the Death Knight class, in addition to adding many other new features that added content and improved the gameplay and team actions of the game.
