This video shows the Pixel 7 together with the current Pixel 6
The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro could be presented during the first week of October, perhaps on October 6, with reservations starting that same day and sales starting next week.
Unbox Therapy has had access to a couple of Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro prototypes. Although these are not retail versions of the phones, and the software is not what you’ll get with either phone (some of the software isn’t even available to run), the video shows the differences and similarities between the line. Pixel 6 and the Pixel 7 line.
Once again, the Pro version of the flagship of the Pixel lineup will sport a periscope telephoto lens that will give the premium variant three cameras (primary and ultra-wide along with telephoto) versus the two you’ll find on the non-Pro model.
Like the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 7 Pro will come with 12GB memory, while the non-Pro model will be equipped with 8GB RAM, like on the Pixel 6.
Both devices will support wireless charging. The Pixel 7 Pro will not only feature a smaller hole in the front compared to the Pixel 7, but it will also sport slimmer bezels.
Speaking of frames, the Pixel 7 will have slimmer bezels than the Pixel 6 although the latter has the highest screen. The Pixel 6 is 1.72mm wider than its successor and weighs 10 grams more.
The Pixel 7 Pro is 0.20mm thinner than the Pixel 6 Pro and the camera bump remains the same at 11.50mm. The new model is 0.78mm wider and 1 gram heavier than its predecessor. The curved screen also appears to be less pronounced in the upcoming model.
Unfortunately, there are a few things we don’t know yet, including the size of the battery in the new models, whether the fingerprint sensor has been improved, and whether face unlock has been added to the Pixel 7 series.
If screen resolution differences remain, the screen of the Pixel 7 Pro will be 1440p compared to 1080p of the Pixel 7. The Pro model is also expected to allow users to save battery life by reducing the screen to 1080p on demand.
