Spotify on Mac: “Remotion”, the app for remote music

Recently, Spotify got a new helper for its application called Removal available only for macOS, very similar to the functionality that SharePlay offers. This latest Apple application provides the ability to call, either audio or video, with your contacts, friends or family.

Removal allows Spotify users to listen to music and talk together with other people. The best is that It will not be necessary for them to be users with Spotify Premium.

Spotify adds the Removal app

Spotify will add to its main app Removal, in order to take local control. Those in charge of developing the app explain that it is designed to provide better audio quality, in addition to making playlists together, even editing them. Something that is also interesting is the possibility of monitoring the volume.

With the removal tool You can integrate friends, colleagues or contacts to be able to share the music you listen to on Spotify with all of them. In case you are the special guest to someone else’s session, you can pause the songs if you have to discuss something with the other members, allowing the song to be synchronized later. There is also the possibility to comment without pausing and Removal will automatically adjust the volume of the song.

As stated above, the app will be available even if you are not a premium user. However, obviously the announcements will continue to occur, so it will only synchronize the audio with the members of the session afterwards.

Removal works with a voice chat, also adding screen sharing and camera if you wish. Evidently the music has to be attenuated so that the members continue to comment with each other. Still, like most breakout apps, muting users is optional.

Despite the fact that this Spotify client application is based on group calls with colleagues or contacts, those responsible for Removal indicate that it is an application designed mostly to be just a Spotify tool. The developers want the members to simply enjoy the company and the shared music.

The problem so far is that Removal hasn’t made it clear whether it will be a subscription service or in-app purchases. However, you will be able to enjoy the tool for now clicking on the following link.
