NFT digital collectibles came to Facebook
After launching support for NFT on Instagram in May, now comes the extension of this novelty to Facebook.
Meta now supports this kind of digital collection on its flagship social network, starting with a select group of creators.
Facebook started rolling out support for NFT
By announcing the arrival of NFTs on InstagramMeta reported that one of its next steps would be to extend this experience to Facebook as well.
The moment arrived, replicated in a similar way. This is a first level of deployment, enabled only for a limited group of invited creators.
Meta Product Manager Navdeep Singh took to his Twitter account to share screenshots illustrating what digital collectibles support looks like on Facebook.

Screenshots shared by Singh show that it’s possible to post NFTs to a profile’s timeline. Clicking on them will bring up details about that digital collectible, such as information about their creator and the collection they belong to.
Eventually, Facebook users will be able to connect their cryptocurrency wallets to their profiles. At the moment no further details on this aspect were specified, although it is presumed that it will be possible through Ethereum, Polygon, Flow and Solana, as indicated in the case of Instagram.
Through this instance it will also be possible to transform the NFTs into Facebook posts, enabling them to react on them, comment on them or share them.
According to Singh’s post, Facebook users will have a “digital collectibles” tab on their profiles, where they can display their NFTs.
It should be remembered that by the time NFTs arrived on Instagram, Mark Zuckerberg commented that testing this feature will allow creators to cross-post to Instagram and Facebook. However, this possibility has not yet been implemented.
On another occasion, Zuckerberg also commented that Meta will work on the development of augmented reality NFTs, or “3D NFTs,” using Spark AR, which is the company’s software AR platform. Given the current context, while the company’s metaverse project is not finished, we will continue to see these experiences appear on the company’s main active platforms.
The subject of a powerful boom at its inception and critics divided between supporters and detractors today, these unique blockchain tokens that denote ownership of a digital asset are already being installed as a new key tool in Meta social networks.
