In any case, streaming platforms are more fashionable than ever, many users consider them the new cable television and the number of proposals for this type of service abounds, which is why it is worth knowing how to watch the productions of Netflix, HBO Max, Disney + and other platforms in high quality.

The first thing to know is that currently all content on Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video is configured and created to be presented in 4K resolution, also called “Ultra HD”. Thus, in the first instance, if you want to enjoy this type of definition, it is necessary to have an electronic device that supports this image quality, such as a television or monitor, failing that, an HDMI cable that does not affect the performance of the screen. .

Netflix

Starting with Netflix, it is necessary to highlight that each of these platforms indicates its own requirements to be able to view content in its highest definition. In this case they are:

– Must have a Netflix plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD.

– A computer monitor or 60Hz TV compatible with Netflix Ultra HD streaming is required.

– At a minimum, a stable internet connection speed of 15 megabits per second is required.

– The ideal browser for Windows is Microsoft Edge, on MacOS 11.0 or later, Safari.

Disney+

The platform suggests using the latest updated version of the browsers compatible with its series and movies in 4K, which are:

– For Windows 7 and later operating systems, Google Chrome 75 or later versions are supported, as well as Firefox 68 or later.

– For Windows 10 and later, the best option is Edge.

– For macOS operating systems from 10.12 (Sierra) onwards, the best browser is Safari 11.

– On macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and later, the Firefox 68 or newer browser is supported.

– On Chromebooks with the “OS 79” operating system, the best alternative is Google Chrome in its latest version.

HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video

The case of these two streaming platforms is particularly different, because they do not allow access to 4K resolution through browsers, that is, if you want to view content from these brands in high definition, you will have to do so by downloading their respective official apps on a device that supports these imaging features.

In other words, if you view content from these sites using Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari on Mac, the highest quality that will be achieved will be 1080p.
