LG 49WQ95C-W, for those who like extreme widescreen monitors
LG 49WQ95C-W is a new monitor that the South Korean firm has just announced to reinforce its ‘Ultrawide’ series and which stands out for taking the concept of ultra widescreen to the extreme with a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels.
Widescreens are among the most attractive in the computer monitor industry. Although not all users like them and not all are advantages in them, those of us who defend them value the greater horizontal display space they offer, which allows us to work with a greater number of open windows, greater immersion in video games and a perfect experience to time to watch movies.
The characteristic that defines them is their aspect ratio, a measure of the proportion between the width and height of the screen, which in the case of the LG 49WQ95C-W is 32:9 with native dual QHD resolution (5120 x 1440 pixels) and an impressive size of 49 inches.
The curved panel with technology NanoIPS, supports 98 percent of the DCI-P3 standard, has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a typical brightness of 400 cd/m². The panel is DisplayHDR 400 certified and LG says it’s factory calibrated.
While not its main target market, this monitor shouldn’t fare poorly in games with its support for FreeSync Premium Pro, NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, and 100% refresh rate. 144Hz. Its 5ms GtG response time is quieter than the average gaming monitor.
As to connectivity, it has two HDMI 2.0 ports, a Display Port 1.4, as well as a USB Type-C port that also supports 90 W power delivery. It includes a USB port hub, a pfor built-in 10W stereo speakers and headphones. Its stand supports height, tilt, and swivel adjustment.
We do not know the official price, but if you are interested, save money because it will not be an economic line and will compete with no less spectacular models such as the Samsung Odyssey G9.
