Dell’s software-defined IT platform offers new capabilities, modules and services for lifecycle management and IT operations.
Dell has introduced the new version 4.0 of its PowerFlex platform. The company is expanding its offering with various new functions, modules and services for modernizing, consolidating and automating IT.
More options for controlling virtualized IT infrastructures
Dell specifically highlights updates to PowerFlex Manager, the toolset for controlling virtualized IT infrastructures. New file services complement the existing block storage services. Users can now use NVMe/TCP as the default protocol for host connectivity. Additionally, with PowerFlex 4.0, Amazon EKS Anywhere can now be used to set up and operate Kubernetes clusters in bare metal and virtual environments.
PowerFlex Manager: Connectivity to 3rd party tools
The platform provides a toolset to simplify IT operations across the infrastructure with PowerFlex Manager. It aims to automate lifecycle management and IT operations tasks, increasing IT productivity and infrastructure predictability. REST interfaces and custom Ansible modules are available for users to connect to third-party tools and integrate custom workflows. The PowerFlex Manager supports the monitoring and management of infrastructures with an AI/ML-based approach.
Dell PowerFlex 4.0 has been available in Germany since August 2022. With its software-defined automation platform, Dell promises high I/O performance with linear scalability, sub-millisecond latencies and 99.9999 percent availability. More information can be found on the Dell blog.
