Xiaomi today announced its partnership with Leica, ending the long-running cooperation between the camera maker and Huawei since 2016. The Chinese tech giant has confirmed that “the cooperation between our two companies ended on March 31,” according to Android. Authority. This means that the P50 and P50 Pro are Huawei’s last phones with Leica cameras, as the P50 Pocket did not include Leica branding. The first flagship smartphone jointly developed between Xiaomi and Leica will be officially launched in July this year. Xiaomi explains that both companies “share the same ideas about mobile imaging and are willing to continuously explore optical performance and photographic experience in the era of mobile imaging through pioneering technological advances and aesthetic pursuits.”
