This year marks three decades since Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal worked for the first time on a project, in the melodrama grandpa and me (1992), from which a friendship arose that persists to this day and has also led them to make some film projects in which both have acted.

And Your Mother Too (2001), Rude and Corny (2008) and My father’s house (2012), are some of the feature films that have brought them together, and now, although both have tried their luck on television and streaming platforms, each one for their part, return as a dumbbell in an original series in Hulu.

This new project will be commanded by Searchlight Television and it will be a dramatic series that bears the tentative title Machinewhich will feature a script by the writer Marco Ramirezwho is known for his work in Daredevil, The Defenders, Orange Is the New Black and his work The Royale.

As it has been revealed, the series will focus on a boxer in his last days of glory (Garcia Bernal), whose cunning manager (Moon) gets him one last fight that can secure him the title of champion and an honorable retirement, but to get to that great battle they will both have to navigate and overcome a challenging force from another world.

Both actors will produce this show together with their company The Gulf Streamwhile the screenwriter will also serve as executive producer and showrunner.

Gabriel Ripstein will direct the entire series, while Gerardo Gatica, Leandro Halperin Y Adam Fishbach will be the producers. Ripstein was a writer, executive producer and director of the Amazon series An Unknown Enemy. He is also known for directing the movie 600 mileswhich marked his directorial debut.
