Spring. In the true sense of the word. Otherwise you risk finishing last in the standings, embrace defeat and also suffer the teasing of friends (real or digital). The new app that aims to revolutionize the way social media is used is called “BeReal”, especially when it comes to images of oneself. And not only.
If scrolling through the timelines of Instagram and Facebook, in fact, all people suddenly seem to be actors of soap operas or catwalk models, much of the credit is from mother nature, but certainly there is a technological help: lights, settings, but also many many filters.
BeReal’s principle is exactly the opposite: when you are called into question, you have to take a picture within a few moments (under penalty of defeat) and therefore there is no time to process, filter and retouch. It turns out as it is, with all due respect to influencers and digital beauty contests.
A GAME AMONG FRIENDS
Everything, however, is proposed and experienced as a game, a competition with no ulterior motives other than to have fun and show the most spontaneous and less elaborate part of oneself: after adding people to their circle, each user will be able to receive a notification every day. In that moment, time is precious: you have to open the app and take a picture of what you are doing at that moment.
The app will take a photo with both the front and rear cameras. Once the notification is received, there are only two minutes to take the photo and share it. From that moment, it will be possible to comment on the photos taken by other friends who participate in the game.
But there is a gong: if you take more than two minutes (an indication that you are using filters or tricks) the app will trigger the “punishments”. And in addition to placing the user at the bottom of the leaderboard, he will probably only post the name in the chat so that other friends can make fun of him.
The BeReal application is available for download from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. It’s free and there are no in-app purchases or ads.
