Apple Music is renewed, and it does so on the occasion of the WWDC despite the service not being mentioned on the (virtual) stage of the keynote. To tell the truth, the update is not particularly full-bodied, but with the release of iOS 16 it will introduce a couple of improvements that will surely please the millions of users who access the streaming music platform every day. Specifically we talk about the ability to customize the order of playlists and of mark as favorite an artist.

PLAYLIST ORDER

Apple now offers more customization within playlists by allowing you to change the order according to different parameters. Until now, in fact, the order was the one in which the songs were added within the playlist itself. The first added was heard first, the second second, and so on. From iOS 16 there will be more freedom:

  • reverse playlist (latest additions are at the top, first at the bottom)
  • order by singer
  • order by title
  • order by album
  • order by date

To customize the playlist – or, better, its order – just tap on the three dots at the top right of the application.

FAVORITES

Another novelty concerns the “favorite” option: with iOS 16 Apple Music will allow mark one or more artists as favorites, thus allowing the user to find them more easily and to receive personalized notifications. “Keep track of the artists you care about the most with new music notifications and improved recommendations“: just go to the artist’s profile and select it.
