Apple finally comes to its senses: it is already working on an iPhone prototype with a USB Type C connector

One of the big buts of Apple products comes with the fact that they use their own Lightning port. To the point that some users have not hesitated to change the connector of their equipment. Well, we finally bring good news: Apple is already conducting the first tests of an iPhone with USB Type C.

It should be remembered that the company would sooner or later have to implement this type of connector by European Union regulations, but until now we had no news of it.

As reported by Bloomberg, one of the most reliable sources on issues related to Apple, the company with the bitten apple is already carrying out the first tests so that its range of devices, including the iPhone, have a USB Type C connector.

The first Apple products with USB Type C will arrive next year

It should be remembered that the regulations established by the European Union is what has forced the company to take the leapbut at least we can confirm that you can finally buy an iPhone with USB C.

Of course, the rumors suggest that Until 2023 we will not see the first units with this type of connector. In addition, Apple is not only working on an iPhone prototype, but is already testing the USB Type C connector on its entire range of devices, including the iPad, AirPods headphones…

On the other hand, the company wants to maintain harmony between its new products and its old ones, so it also is working on an adapter that would turn USB-C into Lightning.

It should be remembered that the technology giant already has some products with a USB-C port, such as in some of its iPads and Macs, so it will not be difficult for it to adapt the rest of its product family to embrace this standard.

What remains to be seen is whether Apple will launch two different lines of the iPhone and other products for the European market, which would have USB Type C connectors, and a second family of devices with its Lightning connector for the rest of the markets. It does not make much sense to do so, the ideal would be to embrace the new standard since they are using it in some versions of the iPad, but until the company explains its intentions, we will have to wait.

Even so, it is excellent news for users in Europe who will soon be able to buy an iPhone with USB Type C connector.
