All smartphones that will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus
After just a few days of the presentation of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, we have a first prospect of smartphones that will use it: ASUS and its next-generation ROG Phones were joined by several official statements over the course of the weekend, by the companies themselves or their main executives. Let’s take stock of the situation below, and we will update if further news should come out in the coming days.
20/5
- Motorola. The company’s official account on the Chinese social network Weibo limited itself to posting an image with the company’s famous slogan, Hello Moto, followed by Hello Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. At the level of indiscretions and leaks, we can say with a certain level of confidence that the smartphone in question will be the so-called Frontier, whose presentation should not be too late.
- OnePlus. Also on Weibo, OnePlus also limited itself to saying that the Chinese company will be among the first to support the new Qualcomm chip. Here too, we must turn to the rumors to get some more clues, and it seems that all converge on OnePlus 10 Ultra. No details on the timing.
- Xiaomi. Always via Twitter, founder Lei Jun confirmed that the company’s “next flagship” will feature the new Qualcomm chip. The exact model has not been mentioned, but it is practically assumed that it is Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
- Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition. As you can easily guess, this is a special version of the flagship that arrived in Europe at the end of February. The exact words used on Twitter by the founder and CEO Sky they seem to suggest that the smartphone is already available in China. We do not know at the moment when / if it will also arrive at us.
- OSOM OV1. OSOM (Out of Sight, Out of Mind) is the company born from the ashes of Essential without Android founder Andy Rubin, and its primary focus will be on privacy. Its first smartphone is expected to be released by the end of this year. This will be a single model. In his announcement via Twitter OSOM hasn’t added any further details.
- ASUS ROG Phone 6. The Taiwanese company confirmed it just a few hours after the presentation of the chip. We don’t have more precise details on the models: there should be at least two, ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro, but we don’t know if the S8G1 + will be found on both.
