Apple Arcade, 15 games are about to leave the catalog

Fifteen video games are about to drop out Apple Arcade, the “all you can eat” video game subscription service that La Mela has launched for more than three years now. It is not the first time that some games (which, remember, are all exclusive, at least on mobile) have left the service, but it is certainly the first time that the list is so extensive and that Apple prepares a dedicated page on the App Store with all the details. The qualifications involved are as follows:

  • Projection: First Light
  • Lifeslide
  • Various Daylife
  • EarthNight
  • Unstressed: Heart of the Elder Tree
  • Over the Alps
  • Nautical Dread
  • Cardpocalypse
  • Towaga: Among Shadows
  • Dead End Job
  • Don’t Bug Me!
  • Spelldrifter
  • Spidersaurs
  • Explottens
  • BattleSky Brigade: Harpooner

The current state, some questions remain unresolved, especially regarding the fate of the upcoming games. Will they be available on the “regular” App Store, outside of the subscription? How will it work for those who have games in progress or have unlocked content along the way, will have to buy back the title or turn to in-app purchases? Or will the games be completely withdrawn and eliminated, perhaps because of little success?

Since it launched, Apple hasn’t talked in too much detail about Arcade’s performance, which suggests that the adoption rate isn’t particularly high. However, it is true that the catalog has grown steadily: we are now just a handful of games above 200. The service, we recall, costs € 4.99 per month. All the games, in addition to being exclusive, are free from any form of advertising and in-app purchases.
